Mr. Jimmy Wayne Jenkins, age 76 of Benton, KY, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at his home.
Born Sunday, April 14, 1940 in DeKalb County, AL, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin Jenkins and the late Easter (Boozer) Jenkins. He served in the United States Coast Guard for over 20 years retiring as a Boatswain's Mate Chief. After serving he work for 18 years as the Chief of Security for B.F. Goodrich in Calvert City.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Lou (Kuehn) Jenkins, two daughters, Jamie Jenkins Morgan of Pace, FL and Michelle Dionne Lackey of Alexandria, VA. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. He has 9 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY. Dr. Herschel Morgan officiating. Interment will follow the service in the McNatt section of the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
