Paul Foster Scott, 83, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1932 at his home. Paul was a lifetime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, a 1951 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in December of 1952 and sent to Korea in 1953 and discharged in October of 1954. After returning home to Paducah he was hired by the Paducah Fire Department in 1957. Paul was forced to retire on disability after a serious on duty accident in 1975. He worked many other jobs in addition to his duties at the Fire Department. He was a past Commander and a long time member of Honor Guard in the American Legion Post 31.
Paul is survived by a daughter, Vickie Livingston of West Paducah, KY; two grandsons, brother, James Scott and a sister, Martha Jean Floyd both of Paducah, KY; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two nephews. His parents were Harry F. and Reba Johnson Scott.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
