Fischer, James

James Arthur Fischer, 46, of Paducah, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home. He was employeed as a technician with Lemons Coin Machines, Inc.

 

“Jamie” was born December 24, 1969 in Cairo, IL to John and Mary Fischer. He had been a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cairo, IL. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 3rd Degree Knight. He served several times as the President of the Cairo chapter of the JayCees and also as a State Director of the Illinois JayCees. He enjoyed competing in area BBQ competitions.

 

He is survived by his wife, Johnna Fischer, of Paducah, KY and her son, John Anderson and wife Barbara, and grandaughter, Hunter, of Mayfield, KY; his father, John Albert Fischer, Jr., of Cairo, IL; his sisters, Julie Fischer-Swisher and Jane Fischer, both of Cairo, IL; his nieces, Amanda Gibson and Mary Kate Swisher, both of Cairo, IL; his nephews, Matthew Stone and Jared Swisher, both of Cairo, IL, Scott Gibson and wife Mesha, of Florrissant, MO; eight great nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Emma Kaha Fischer; his brother, John A. “Boo” Fischer, III.

 

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow at Briensburg Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 pm Monday, October 3, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
