Anita Cole Manning, 84, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Gaither Suites.
Anita attended Augusta Tilghman High School, where she was a member of the Drill Crorps. Before beginning her career as a public servant she volunteered for The Community Chest on behalf of the Paducah Day Nursery. She was retired from service to McCracken County, first as a Deputy for the McCracken County Sheriff's Office and later at the County Court Clerk's office.
Anita was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ. She was a volunteer for the Museum of the American Quilters Society. She was active in the Woodmen of the World fraternal organization, and was a longtime member of the National Campers & Hikers Association. She was a Duchess of Paducah and a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by her son, James Keith Manning of Memphis, Tennessee.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James H. Manning. Her parents were Tolly Cole and Nancy Adna Muhundro Cole Cowan.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Paul Winfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. unitl 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
