Howle, William

William “Billy Hop” Howle, 90, of Wickliffe, passed away at Life Care of LaCenter on Monday, May 15, 2017. 

 

He was born on October 7, 1926 to his parents, Edward Hopkins Howle and Myrtle Duley Howle. 

 

He played basketball for Murray State University before entering and serving in the United States Army.  He worked as a construction electrician and was an IBEW Local 816 member for sixty five years.  He served on the Ballard County School Board for twenty years, was a member of Wickliffe First Baptist Church, and was very active in Wickliffe community activities.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Anita Rollins Howle of Wickliffe; his daughters, Tina Forrester (Billy) of LaCenter and Hollye Taylor of Olive Branch, MS; his sons, Preston Howle and wife, Judy of Clarksville, TN and Brady Howle of Memphis, TN; ten grandchildren, Shanna Thomas, Jevon Howle, Mandy Griffey, Christy Howle, Jared Forrester, Christopher Hall, Lauren Swearingen, Kaitlin Howle, Erika Taylor, and Zachary Taylor; eleven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

 

He was preceeded by his parents and sister, Juanita “Midge” Frome.

 

Services for Mr. Howle will be held at Wickliffe First Baptist Church on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lynn Releford officiating.  Burial will follow in Wickliffe City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home & Cremations Services of Wickliffe on Thursday, May 18, 2017 and at Wickliffe First Baptist Church beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
