Hensley Jewell Blewett, 71, of Danville, Illinois died on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Veterans Administration hospital in Danville, Illinois.
He grew up in the Reidland Community and was a member of Reidland United Methodist Church.
Hensley was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his brother, Vernon Lewis Blewett of Reidland; two sisters, Betty Jo Holmes of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Brenda Sue Black (Richard) of Paducah; five nephews, John Wesley Holmes of Farmington, Utah, Clay Waller Holmes Jr. of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Robert Curtis Holmes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, George Benjamin Black of New Orleans, Louisiana, Timothy Richard Black of Portland, Oregon; a niece, Dr. Natalie Anne Hodge of Paducah.
He is also survived by his caregiver of many years, Shirley Norton of Danville, Illinois.
Hensley was preceded in death by his parents, Maburn Vernon Blewett and Anna Louise Lewis Blewett, and by his nephew Joel Blewett Holmes.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1pm at Milner and Orr funeral home of Paducah, with the Reverend Steve Cavitt officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 12 noon until the service time of 1pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
