Nancy Brown Wolverton, 71 of Miami Beach, Florida, formerly of the Harmony community passed away on her birthday, July 4, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Wolverton was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church and a retired Home Economics teacher with the Hickman Co. School System from 1969-1999. She was a FHA advisor to students, and also those who held regional, state and national offices from Hickman County. She was a mentor to all students and always available to them. Her example led many to pursue Home Economics degrees.
Mrs. Wolverton is survived by her son, Kenley Gossum of Miami Beach, Florida and a step-son, Scott (Van) Wolverton of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 5 grandchildren, James Wolverton of Shawnee, Kansas, Jessica Van Lynn of Kansas City, Kansas, Sohpia Wolverton, Kristen Wolverton and Jennifer Wolverton, all of Vietnam, and 1 great-grandchild, Jacob Van Lynn of Kansas City, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Wolverton and her parents, Arthur Hampton and Joyce Bard Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Jim Wolfgang officiating. A private burial will be held.
