Mrs. Peggy J. Johnson, age 75 of Symsonia, Ky passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at her home. She was a retired registered nurse for Dr. William Culbertson and was a member of Clarks River Baptist Church.
Born Saturday, March 14, 1942 in Madisonville, KY, she was the daughter of the late George C. Laffoon and the late Ellen (Hall) Laffoon.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Frank A. Johnson of Symsonia, KY, daughters, Judy Buchanan of Lexington, KY, Beth Sullivan of Symsonia, KY and Melissa Finney, husband Jim of Bradenton, FL, son, Bucky Buchanan of Rochester, NY, brothers, Jim Laffoon, wife Barbara of Crystal Lake, IL and Bill Laffoon of Madisonville, KY, mother-in-law, Frances Johnson, 6 grandchildren, Koty Sullivan, Alex Johnson, Adam Gannett, Ashley Johnson, Andrea Sullivan and Stephanie Gannett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by son, Eric Brian Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.. at Clarks River Baptist Church, 10962 State Route 131, Symsonia, KY 42082. Rev. Jeff Collins and Rev. Mark Stephens will officiate.
Interment will follow the service in the Symsonia Cemetery, Symsonia, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY. Additional visitation will be held at Clarks River Baptist Church on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m.
