Margaret Jewel (Miller) Stewart, 94, of Paducah, Kentucky died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at New Haven Assisted Living in Paducah.
She was born on February 9, 1923 in Johnsonville, Tennesse to James and Nancy Mathews Miller. When she was 12 years old, her mother died leaving her to care for four younger siblings.
Margaret was co-owner/operator of Bestway Travel Club taking people on escorted trips across the U.S. including many cruises. After the death of her husband of 53 years, she returned to Paducah. she enjoyed the senior dances and the many friends she met. Margaret was a member of Reidland United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Wanda Moore and husband Doug of Paducah; Anita Brittain and husband Joe of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Kennard (Ken) Stewart and wife Amber of Houston, TX; and Deborah Moore and husband Jeff of Acworth, GA. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Moore, Jason (Tara) Moore, Cindy (John) Bohr, Eric (Sarah) Brittain, Kim (John) Rumrey, Melinda (Joey) Lamboy, Matt ( Candice) Moore and Sophie, Noah and Ava Stewart. Also 14 great grandchilren: Chase, Hunter and Ava Moore; Jack and Kate Moore; Ethan Moore; Isabella Lamboy; Lauren and Owen Brittain; Ryan and Jarrod Bohr; Ellie, Kate and Nick Rumrey. Several Paducah nieces and nephews and a special friend, Alan and his dogs.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters and an infant grandson.
Funeral services will be at Reidland United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brent Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Draffenville, KY.
