Mary I. Galvin, 85, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 5:39 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Superior Care Home.
Ms. Galvin was a 1954 graduate of Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati, OH, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. Part of her college studies included an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She continued to be employed at the same hospital where she worked for 30 years as food production manager. Mary was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where she was an active church volunteer. She and her sisters, Patricia and Jean, served for 15 years for funeral receptions at St. Thomas More. All three sisters received the Sophia Award for their service. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association and enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts work.
Mary is survived by a brother, John Galvin and wife Maureen of Madison, IN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Galvin and Jean Galvin; a brother, Thomas Galvin. Her parents were James Leslie and Agnes F. Flynn Galvin.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the church.
