Mr. Donald Eugene Hooten, 89, of Marion, KY, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services in Salem, KY.
Mr. Hooten was a Seaman First Class while serving in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the purple heart. Also while in the Navy, Mr. Hooten was a golden gloves boxer. Some of his many loves were music (especially Elvis), dancing, and tinkering. He was an adventuresome person who enjoyed life.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Lunceford (Gary) of Marion, KY; one son, John Hooten (Bonnie) of Salem, KY; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Hooten; two brothers, Glenn and Floyd Hooten; and one sister, Peggy Kilpatrick.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, with military rights to follow.
Burial will in Salem Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services.
