Connie La' Shon Payne, age 41, was born on October 6, 1976 in Murray, Kentucky to Mary E. Payne and the late James E. Payne, Sr.
She departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Baptist Health, Paducah, Kentucky.
Connie graduated from Murray High School and continued on to receive Rank 1 in Administration from Murray State University.
She was employed at Calloway County Middle School where she fulfilled her passion for teaching and helping students. She also devoted time to tutoring and coaching. Connie worked as an administrator for the Day Treatment Program for the Calloway County School System, and as a math teacher at Mayfield Middle School and Paducah Middle School. She also served as an adjunct in the Math Department of Murray State University.
Connie was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she has served as an usher, choir member, youth director, church secretary, and children's church teacher.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the heart of her mother, Mary E. Payne, Murray; sister, Nekesha Payne, Murray; twin sister, Bonnie Payne, Hopkinsville; brothers, Walter Payne (Sherill), Murray, and James E. Payne, Jr., Fort Wayne, IN; her special nieces, Neresha Payne, Murray, and Neuon Payne, Murray; aunts, Janice Cooper, Paris, TN, and Marjorie Payne, Mayfield; great aunt, Jeanette, Chicago, IL; uncles, Aurthur "Sonny" Blythe, Decatur, GA and Henry Greer, Murray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.
The funeral service will be at 1:00pm Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 203 South 4th Street, Murray, Kentucky with Minister Bonnie Payne and Rev. Ronald Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery and visitation will be from 10:30am to 1:00pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church.
