Chaney, Ida

                 Funeral services for Ida Pearl Inman Chaney, 89, of Murray, KY, will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 14th, 2016 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Burns officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chaney passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 11th, 2016.   She was born in Greenville, KY on February 10, 1927 to the late Robert Christopher Inman and Alma Vitula Vanover Inman.   Mrs. Chaney was the wife of former William Cortel Chaney, retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant.  She met her life’s partner in Murray while working for the Tappan Stove Plant.  They were married on July 22, 1950 in Corinth, MS.  She was a devoted mom and homemaker, living the life of an Air Force wife for twenty-six years.  She kept the home fires burning, becoming familiar with maintenance, plumbing, carpentry and groundskeeping. While doing this she raised her four daughters….making, starching and ironing their clothes, assuring church attendance and acting as peace keeper at home.  She was a Brownie Scout and Girl Scout leader and Vacation Bible School Leader.  She made countless cookies for homeroom classes.  She crocheted afghans for every member of the family.  She was also an avid quilter until her eyesight waned. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Thomas Inman, Raymond Carl Inman and George Arthur Inman and her two sisters, Lillie Mae Inman Boren and Martha Elizabeth Inman Robards, brothers-in-law, JE Robards, Clarence Boren, James Harold Chaney, Eugene Skinner Chaney, and Charles Hugh Chaney, and sisters-in-law, Leah Inman, Thelma Gene Inman, Verna Inman, Ruby Inman, and Dorothy Sanders Chaney.

Mrs. Chaney is survived by four daughters, Brenda Rambo and her husband Jesse Jr. “Buddy” of Reeders, PA, JoAnn Gentry and husband, James “Mike” of Wylie, TX, Betty Cobb of Johnson City, TN, and Linda Morris and husband, Jimmy Dale of Murray; one brother, Willie Adren “Bill” Inman of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters-in-law, Lena Sue Chaney and Sue Chaney of Murray, KY.; eight grandchildren, Katherine McNutt Jennings and husband Shane, Keri McNutt Kinyon and husband Aaron, Brittney Rambo Whitfill and husband Chad, Cara Gentry Becknell  and husband Kyle, Evan Gentry and wife Tara, Jeremy Cobb and wife Taby, Heather Cobb Laliberte and husband Tim, Sara Duncan Keyes and husband, Jesse; as well as twelve great grandchildren, Shelby Barnes, Camryn Dickman, Madision Dickman, Carter Kinyon, Patrick Kinyon, Case Whitfill, Bayley Garman, Tucker Rosenbusch, Harper Rosenbusch, Peyton Laliberte, Sophia Laliberte and Kinsley Keyes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
