Geneva Frances Pennington, age 75 of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away at 10:05 am on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Lourdes Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Kingston Cemetery in Massac County. Rev. Larry Lunsford will officiate.
Geneva was of the Baptist Faith. She formerly worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory and retired from Metzger Meat Packing.
Geneva is survived by her husband of 56 years, Evan “Jerry” Pennington; two daughters, Juanita Wedeking-Newberry and husband Jack and Monico Clark all of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Amanda Wedeking-Massey, Gareth Wedeking both of Metropolis, Wade Wedeking of Princeton, KY, and Libby Clark of Metropolis; one great grandson, David Massey of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Emma Hill Burchett; son-in-law, Charles Junior Clark; brother, Leo Burchett; sister, Retah Jones.
There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Pallbearers will be Wade Wedeking, Gareth Wedeking, Jack Newberry, Jeremy Newberry, Ronald Blanchard, and Gary Turner.
