Nancy Hunt Buckingham, 78 of Lone Oak, KY died at 4:24 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Nancy was a long time member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and was a member of the Ruth Thomas Sunday School Class where she also served as President of the class. Nancy was a graduate of Lone Oak High School in the class of 1955. Nancy was retired from McCracken County School System having been a Teacher and spent many years as Librarian at Heath High School. She was a member of Lone Oak Woman’s Club, Paducah/McCracken County Retired Teachers Association and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. Nancy was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling and especially the cruises she was able to go with family.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William F. “Bill” Buckingham; one daughter, Melody Lady and husband, Sam of Kennesaw, GA; two granddaughters, Kelly Lady, Kennesaw, GA and Kristy Futscher and husband, Rob of Lantana, TX; one great-granddaughter, Emery Grace Lang; three brothers, Irvin (Jean) Hunt, Sebring, FL, Frank (Modell) Hunt, Elk City, OK and Jack (Faye) Hunt, Chicago Heights, IL; several neices and nephews.
Preceding death were one son, Stuart F. Buckingham; parents, I.N. & Ruth White Hunt, one sister, Betty Stewart and one brother, Bobby Hunt.
Services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Revs. Mike Williams and Stan Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
