Mrs. Ida Katherine (Hardison) West, age 85 of Benton, KY passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY.
Born Saturday, August 9, 1930 in Marshall Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Hastin Hardison and the late Pearl (McGregor) Hardison. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Kelley, husband Phillip of Symsonia, KY and Phyllis Hertter, husband Bill of Metropolis, IL, one son, Donald Clay West, wife Jennifer of Westmoreland, TN, one brother, Joe Hardison of Benton, KY; eight grandchildren; Donnie Hertter of Benton, KY, William Hertter of Metropolis, IL, Robbie Kelley of Benton, KY, Chad Johnson of Benton, KY, Karen Tilford of Kevil, KY, Jesse Clay West of Colorado, Phillip Clay Kelley of Benton, KY, Timmy Kelley of Benton, KY. Fifteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Clay Junior West, by brothers, Billy Ray Hardison and Charlie Hardison, sisters, Ema Nell Henson and Mary Elizabeth West.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Bro. Max Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
